introducing pancake

It's time to introduce you all to our fur-baby, Pancake! Cory and I adopted Pancake last June and she has been the perfect addition to our little family! I grew up having rabbits as pets, but Pancake is the first rabbit to live in our living space (instead of outdoors) and it's a whole new pet rabbit experience. It's so much fun getting to see her burn her energy running laps around our living room furniture or hearing her little gulps when she drinks from her water bottle.

The popularity of pet therapy is ever increasing, especially at my university where they'll bring in dogs for students to play with to de-stress. Pancake has been the perfect companion as she reminds me to slow down and relax. Sometimes I just lay down beside her and she'll lick my nose and it's the sweetest thing in the world! No amount of stressful life happenings can ruin those moments.
munching on her favourite hay toy
falling asleep watching TV
curled up in a ball to stay warm
taking her usual morning nap
We love that Pancake can run around freely throughout our apartment. All we do is block off our couch, and she has the rest of the place to explore, finding new places to nap every day. I believe rabbits are underrated house pets. They're so clean, quiet and carefree. They let you know when they need attention, but they also enjoy their independence. We've even started eating healthier since we adopter her - our fridge is fully stocked with rabbit-friendly organic veggies!

I love documenting all of Pancake's adorableness!

Bonjour 2017!

Hello blogging world! My oh my, it has been quite some time! 2016 flew by in a flash and suddenly, here I am, beginning a new year after so many exciting life events took place! Sharing all of my recent adventures would be too much for one single post, so I'll be writing my life updates through weekly blogs! Just a taste of the excitement that's been going on around here, I'm so happy to announce that this year has already gotten off to a beautiful start with the arrival of our very first nephew and godson! Although this seems like it could possibly be the highlight of my entire year, I know God has many more wonderful things in store!

Things to look forward to reading about: OUR WEDDING (and all the exciting events leading up to it), our fur-baby, our apartment (now that it actually has furniture in it), becoming a coffee master, my hand lettering hobby, and my experiences so far during Teacher's College!

Thanks for sticking around and reading this blog of mine!
Bonjour 2017! Can't wait to see what all you have in store!

my latest adulting experiences

Recent adulting has lead to a number of new keys being added to my key ring! In the past month or so, Cory and I have not only bought our first car but also got the keys to our apartment! BIG THINGS! Of course, life has a way of not going perfectly according to plan, and getting a car wasn't a planned event, but I can't complain. Life is crazy hectic right now, but it's a thrilling roller coaster and I love taking a pause on my blog here to reflect on all of life's happenings.

First adulting experience: car shopping! Cory and I were going to get his parent's old van as our first vehicle, which we were hoping would last us til the winter, but it decided to die quite suddenly and we had to replace it as soon as possible. We ended up getting a wonderful, black 2010 Honda Civic (aka the most common car and colour in my town). The whole process wasn't too painful and it was the first big purchase we made as an engaged (and almost married) couple! We love our new-to-us car and that it's actually our own!

Second adulting experience: getting an apartment! Cory and I started apartment shopping earlier this year and had a place lined up for Cory to move in the beginning of May. We got the keys on the ninth and have been moving our stuff into our place the past while! I always looked forward to moving out and being able to create my own home and special space, so I can't wait to move in and start decorating! Our apartment is quite small, but suits us well for this first phase of married life. It's also nice and close to school where I'll be attending teacher's college starting in the fall. I'll eventually be able to post some before and after pictures of our living space! Stay tuned!

Final recent adulting experience: playing archery tag with a group of awesome people for my friend's birthday! The school year is over and it's starting to feel like summer, which means it's time to do super cool things with your friends, like archery tag! We played a bunch of dodge ball-like games using bows and arrows (with big foam marshmallows on the ends). We all went out for ice cream afterwards and it was a fun-filled evening. Nights like this are what your 20s are for!
